Balta Group buys Domo's flooring unit
Doughty Hanson's Belgian portfolio company Balta Group has signed a deal to buy Domo NV's floor covering business.
The private equity backer is not infusing additional funding into the portfolio company to facilitate the transaction, with the deal's completion subject to regulatory approval.
Balta, which specialises in floor coverings, has been granted use of the Domo brand name within the floor coverings business until the end of 2013. The deal will cover Domo's wall-to-wall carpets, carpet tiles, yarn and fibre products, and needle felt production.
The acquisition lifts Balta's total turnover to approximately €700m, with the number of employees reaching 4,000, primarily in Belgium, Turkey and the United States.
