Rabo Capital looks to sell DORC
The private equity division of Rabobank, Rabo Capital, is planning to sell portfolio company Dutch Ophthalmic Research Centre (DORC).
The captive has brought in investment bank William Blair & Co to oversee the sale process.
Rabo made a growth capital investment in DORC in 2009. The company supplies specialised instruments and equipment for ophthalmic surgery. Products include precision instruments with ultra-small dimensions to enable surgeons to carry out eye procedures through a miniscule opening.
Established in 1983, DORC exports its products to more than 60 countries through its subsidiaries and distribution network. Its subsidiaries are based in the US, the Nordic region, Germany, Austria, the UK, France and the Middle East.
Perry Bos, director at Rabo, has been responsible for the portfolio company.
