Gilde hires Waterland’s Van den Weghe as investment director

Gilde Equity Management Benelux has appointed Frédéric Van den Weghe, a former senior investment manager at Waterland Private Equity, as an investment director.
Van den Weghe worked at Waterland until last year, having joined in 2005. During his time at the firm, he co-led the GP's investments in Senior Living Group, sold to French dependency care provider Medica last July for an estimated €180-190m; Belgian laboratory business Medhold Group, sold to Sonic Healthcare for €232m in 2010; and underground cabling services provider Infra Group, also in 2010.
Prior to joining Waterland, he spent four years working on management buyout transactions at law firm Baker & McKenzie.
Gilde managing partner Gerhard Nordemann said in a statement that, as a Belgian national, Van den Weghe's appointment underpins the firm's efforts to become a Benelux-wide firm and strengthen its position in the Belgian private equity market.
Gilde has offices in Utrecht in the Netherlands and Antwerp in Belgium.
