Riverside makes European promotions
The Riverside Company has promoted Juan Barnechea to head of its European deal origination team.
He will be replacing Karsten Langer who will become a transaction partner for Benelux and France.
Langer joined Riverside in 2006 as an origination partner. Prior to joining Riverside he was managing partner of corporate finance firm M&A International SA. He has also held several senior positions with GE Capital Europe, including chief operating officer of GE TIP Europe and GE Modular Space Europe.
Barnechea assumes his new position after spending the last two years as origination vice president for the Iberian region, where he worked among other deals worked on the recent acquisition of Crioestaminal, a provider of cord blood stem cell storage services. He has also led Riverside's Lender Relations Program, a Europe-wide initiative aimed at strengthening relationships between Riverside and its banks and lenders. Prior to joining Riverside in 2008, Barnechea was director and head of Corporate Markets for Lloyds TSB Bank in Spain.
