Nordian invests in Dutch spring producer Alcomex
Amsterdam-based investment firm Nordian has acquired springs manufacturer Alcomex alongside management.
Conrad Hietink and Jelle van Vliet, now directors and co-owners of the business, are investing alongside Nordian, acquiring shares from original owner and founder Fred Bass.
Baas had founded the company in 1992 in Opmeer, the Netherlands, alongside business partner René Kalkhuis who passed away in 2012.
Via this transaction, Baas was looking to pass on the company to the next owner.
Hietink and van Vliet are now the new owners - alongside Nordian - and statutory directors of the newly formed group. Baas will continue to be a member of the management board and retains a stake in the group.
With Nordian's backing, the group will look to continue implementing its expansion strategy in the European industrial springs market.
Dutch bank Rabobank supported the transaction.
