VEP buys Scheuten Glass
Value Enhancement Partners (VEP) has purchased Dutch glass manufacturer and distributor Scheuten Glass Holding for an undisclosed fee.
The acquisition solves a succession issue with 69-year-old founder Jacques Scheuten and will not affect the current workforce or strategy, according to a statement.
VEP stated it hopes to take advantage of growth in the construction industry.
Company
Founded in 1950 in Venlo, Scheuten now operates from seven locations across the Netherlands, Germany and Belgium. It originally focused on flat-glass processing but has branched out into insulation, laminated, tempered, coated and fire-proof glass.
The company recorded an operating loss of €2.7m from €128.9m in sales, according to publicly available documents for the financial year ending December 2015. It employed 726 employees in the same period.
