Gilde backs MBO of Albelli
Gilde Buy Out Partners has backed the management buyout of photo products firm Albelli from e-commerce company Cimpress.
The GP will draw capital from its €1.1bn fund V, which held a final close in November 2015.
Vendor Cimpress said the reason for the sale was freeing up capital to be re-deployed on other priorities. It ends a six-year holding period for the company.
Gilde plans to support Albelli's existing strategy of expanding its B2C business by focusing on quality and functionality.
Company
Registered as Albumprinter Holding and headquartered in Amsterdam, Albelli operates under several trade names including Albelli, Bonus Print, Fotoknudsen and Önskefoto. It produces photobooks and other related photo print products. It is active in Benelux, Scandinavia and some other European countries. The company employs 290 people.
