
NPM Capital invests in Ultimaker
Dutch venture capital firm NPM Capital has invested in Amsterdam-based Ultimaker, a manufacturer of 3D printers.
Ultimaker intends to use the capital to accelerate product development and invest in additional sales, marketing and R&D resources to expand globally.
NPM will become a majority shareholder, while the manufacturer's three founders will remain as shareholders.
The private equity firm specialises in buyout, growth and replacement capital transactions of medium-sized companies. It typically invests €20-200m in companies valued between €50-500m operating across various sectors including food, healthcare, e-commerce and energy sector suppliers in the Benelux region.
In May 2017, NPM exited dental practice chain Samenwerkende Tandartsen via a trade sale to DentConnect.

Founded in 2011, Ultimaker makes desktop 3D printers and software. It employs a staff of 300 and operates offices in the Netherlands, New York and Boston. Its distribution network spans around 100 countries. The company posted a turnover of €36m in 2016.
