Egeria buys textiles wholesaler Nooteboom
Dutch private equity firm Egeria has acquired Tilbug-based textiles wholesaler Nooteboom Textiles for an undisclosed sum.
The Nooteboom family, which is the fifth generation to own the business, will retain a significant minority stake in the new company.
The GP closed its fifth fund, Egeria Private Equity Fund V, on €800m in December 2017 but drew equity for this transaction from the €600m Egeria Private Equity Fund IV.
Details of the transaction were not disclosed but the vehicle generally targets equity investments in companies with an enterprise value between €50-350m.
The company's CEO, Sander Nooteboom, said in a statement that Egeria's support will allow the business to expand into new countries and markets.
Company
Nooteboom was originally founded as a gentlemen's clothing shop in Tilburg in 1852. The company now specialises in wholesale of women's and children's clothing fabrics. It has operations in 50 countries and employs approximately 85 people.
