Mentha Capital exits Fri-Jado in SBO
Mentha Capital has sold its majority stake in Fri-Jado to Torqx Capital Partners.
Mentha acquired its stake in the business in 2014 using its MCF IV vehicle.
The fund targeted the lower end of the mid-cap buyout market, typically providing equity investments of €5-15m in companies with enterprise values of €15-75m, revenues of €25-75m and EBITDA of €2-10m.
Torqx span out from H2 Equity Partners in 2015, where the team was responsible for H2's Benelux investments.
Torqx Capital Partners Fund I was launched in 2017, with a target size of €150m, according to unquote" data. The fund seeks to make 10-12 investments in medium-sized companies in the Benelux region.
Previous funding
Fri-Jado was acquired by Mentha in November 2014 in a carve-out from TBI Techniek, a Dutch holding company for technical services and construction businesses. At the time of the carve-out, Fri-Jado's turnover stood at €100m.
Mentha confirmed it was the only stakeholder in the company alongside management during its ownership.

Founded in 1937, Fri-Jado Euro Products is a manufacturer of equipment designed for use in the preparation, storage and merchandising of hot and cold food products. Products include commercial rotisseries, bakery ovens and combi-steamers. It is a supplier to 15 food retailers.
The company is headquartered in Etten-Leur with sales offices in the UK and the US, as well as a global distribution network of 70 partners.
