Gimv buys Ellis Gourmet Burger
Gimv, alongside Belgian corporate Top Brands, has acquired a majority stake in Ellis Gourmet Burger, a Belgium-based burger chain.
Co-founder and CEO Thierry Canetta will continue in his role as CEO. He reinvested significantly in the business, retaining a minority stake.
Top Brands, based in Wilrijk, is a food group that owns, among others, Pizza Hut Belgium. It manages around 124 point of sale units.
The GP's backing is expected to help Ellis Gourmet Burger to further expand in Belgium, the Netherlands and France.

Ellis was founded in 2010 and has 25 restaurants in the Netherlands, France and Belgium. The company generated a turnover of €24m in 2017 and has a workforce of 270.
