5Square backs My Micro Group
Dutch GP 5Square and a group of business angels have acquired a majority stake in My Micro Group (MMG), a Netherlands-based online wholesaler of electronics parts.
MMG's founders also reinvested in the business.
Dutch firm 5Square typically provides tickets in the €3-5m range.
Business angels Patrick Kerssemakers, Frank Hansen, Michel Lieffering and Robert Manders equally backed MMG. Kerssemakers and Hansen are founders and until recently shareholders in FonQ, a Dutch online store for living, cooking and lifestyle products.
The investors' backing will help support product development and international expansion.
Company
Founded in 2003, MMG is an online wholesaler of spare parts for smartphones, laptops and white goods. The group operates the ReplaceDirect and Accu.nl websites, and wholesaler Twindis.com. The company also provides battery chargers and batteries for devices such as laptops, tools, cameras, medical equipment and bicycles.
Serving the Dutch, German, Austrian, Belgian and French markets, the business generates a turnover of €22m and has a headcount of 100. MMG is located in Beek en Donk.
