Vendis Capital buys Alpine
Vendis Capital has acquired a stake in Netherlands-based Alpine Holding, an earplug manufacturer.
Unquote sister publication Mergermarket previously reported that Oaklins conducted the late-stage auction. The de Roode family was marketing the business based on EBITDA of €3m for Alpine, according to the publication.
Retail- and consumer-focused private equity firm Vendis Capital invested in the business via its second buyout fund, Vendis Capital II, which closed on €180m in 2016. Alpine is the fund's eighth investment.
As a result of the sale, Arthur van Keeken will be appointed as CEO of Alpine. The company's founders, Peter and Lisette de Roode, will take up non-executive board seats and support the management in the next growth phase.
Company
Alpine, founded in 1994 and headquartered in Soesterberg, develops and markets hearing protection products.
Its products are sold to end-users through distributors, wholesalers, retail chains, webshops and the Alpine webshops. The business exports its products to around 40 countries.
