Creafund sells Mylène to trade
Belgian GP Creafund has sold its majority stake in Belgium-based Mylène, a beauty and cosmetic products specialist, to healthcare company Vision Healthcare (Vision HC).
Once the deal is finalised, Vision HC will own 100% of Mylène, a source close to the situation disclosed to Unquote.
Vision Healthcare is a subsidiary company of Belgium-based Damier Group, an investment company backing companies operating in the branded consumer healthcare sector.
Creafund reinvested a major part of the proceeds from the sale of Mylène into Vision HC, together with the managment from Mylène, Unquote understands. As a result, Vison HC is currently owned by Damier (70%), Creafund (15%), and individual shareholders and management (15%), a person familiar with the situation disclosed.
Vision Healthcare is working on several other files to expand the company's presence in Europe, Belgian daily De Tijd reported. In 2018, Vision Healthcare had a turnover of over €105m, it added.
Previous funding
Creafund has held a stake in the company since 2015, when it invested alongside Mylène's management, according to the GP's website. Creafund typically invests in companies valued in the €20-100m range.
Company
Founded in 1965 and headquartered in Heist-op-den-Berg, Mylène sells a wide range of beauty and cosmetic products in Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg, France and Germany. It is currently expecting a turnover of €30m in 2018 and has 100 staff.
