Sofindev backs Mabo-Lifting
Belgian GP Sofindev has acquired a significant stake in Belgium-based Mabo-Lifting, investing alongside its management.
Sofindev is investing in the business via its Sofindev IV fund, which closed on €107m in 2016. Mabo-Lifting is the fund's seventh investment. The GP recently completed the vehicle's first divestment with the sale of House of Talents.
Mabo-Lifting's managing directors remain significant shareholders after the entry of Sofindev, and will continue to run the business, according to a statement by the GP.
Company
Founded in the 1980s, Mabo-Lifting is a distributor of forklifts specialised in space-saving and efficiency. The company is backed by manufacturers such as Moffett, Combilift and Innolift, with which it has long-term partnerships and exclusive import rights for Belgium. The company has facilities in both Lier and Zulte.
Mabo-Lifting generates €17m in sales and employs 40 people.
