Aurelius carves out YouBuild and MPRO
Aurelius has carved out Belgium-based YouBuild and MPRO, two heavyside building materials merchants, from parent company Grafton.
The transaction is the maiden deal for the Benelux team of Aurelius, based in the Netherlands (the GP was founded in Germany). The Benelux team invests in mid-market companies with sales of €100-500m and an EBITDA margin of 5% and up. The team provides equity investments of up to €80m.
Following the acquisition, Aurelius will support the management team with the execution of the separation from Grafton, after which the focus will move to the further integration of MPRO's and YouBuild's operations and footprint, as well as the exploration of growth opportunities in the fragmented market.
Company
Headquartered in Brussels, MPRO and YouBuild are building materials merchant groups. The brands are generalist suppliers of a broad range of heavy construction products.
The combined businesses generate revenues close to €100m, operating 16 stores and employing around 240 staff.
