Vortex acquires mortgage broker Hypotheek.winkel

The company's founders will retain a minority ownership.

The deal is a result of an auction sale carried out by the company. 

David Geerts, CEO of Hypotheek.winkel, said the partnership fitted the growth strategy of the company: "We were looking for a partner who understands the strength of our 'click & mortar' business model and can provide support where necessary. Vortex has a lot of experience with fast-growing companies, as well as with IT and digitalisation."

The company plans to continue investing in its online and physical stores distribution model, and support its network with expertise and automation. 

Vortex focuses on fast-growing SMEs with headquarters in the Benelux region and currently has 15 companies in its portfolio.

Founded in 2001 and based in Vilvoorde, Hypotheek.winkel is an online mortgage broker. The company offers its services in 90 locations in Flanders via a franchise network. It employs between 100-200 staff, about 100 of whom are mortgage advisers, according to its website and LinkedIn profile.
