Avedon Capital acquires Macaw
Avedon Capital Partners is to acquire a majority stake in Netherlands-based digital marketing service Macaw.
Avedon intends to support Macaw's international growth strategy, focusing on targets that likewise specialise in Microsoft and Sitecore, with a focus on data, customer experience and business applications, the GP said in a statement.
Macaw acquired Germany-based digital communications consultancy B+D Interactive in December 2019, and the DACH region is to be a priority in its buy-and-build strategy, the GP said in the same statement.
Macaw also aims to grow its team of 350 staff to 1,000 by 2025.
Avedon had raised €500m for its latest vehicle, Avedon Growth Capital IV, as of August 2020. The fund has a hard-cap of €575m and invests in lower-mid-market businesses in the Benelux region.

Founded in 1994 and headquartered in Hoofddorp, Macaw provides digital marketing services, focusing on e-commerce, data, AI and cloud working. The company specialises in Microsoft and Sitecore software. Its clients include Dutch and German corporates such as Heineken and Henkel, according to a statement. Macaw employs 350 people at its sites in the Netherlands, Germany and Lithuania.
