
Aurelius buys Panasonic Europe's consumer battery business
Aurelius is to acquire Panasonic Europe's consumer battery business, Panasonic Consumer Energy, via a carve-out.
The deal is expected to close in Q2 2021.
According to a statement, Panasonic Corporation will provide technical support to the company in the coming years and will also provide a licence to allow the company to continue to produce and distribute its products under its current brand name and trademarks.
Aurelius intends to support Panasonic Consumer Energy with its establishment as a standalone entity. The company will also operate under a new brand name.

Panasonic Consumer Energy has two manufacturing facilities in Belgium and Poland, with its sales headquarters in Zellik, Belgium. Its products include alkaline and zinc carbon consumer batteries, as well as its rechargeable battery brand Eneloop. Founded in 1970, the company employs 900 people and posted revenues of €230m in 2019.
