Egeria invests in Hitec Power Protection
Egeria has acquired Dutch power supply systems provider Hitec Power Protection, according to reports.
The deal is estimated to be worth around €5m.
Company
Hitec was founded in 1956 and patented the rotary UPS (uninterruptible power system) in the same year. Headquartered in Almelo, the company operates offices in the UK, US, Spain, Malaysia, China, Taiwan and Singapore.
Hitec manufactures single module systems rated up to 3000 kVA and parallel systems up to 50 MVA. Overall, its units supply more than 1.6 million kVA of UPS power globally.
In August 2012, the company invested in a new 2000m2 hall as part of a capacity expansion.
