Gimv et al. back Multiplicom
Gimv, Biotechfonds Vlaanderen, VIB and the University of Antwerp have backed molecular diagnostics company Multiplicom with €2m.
The investment will be used to develop the diagnostic test, CE-marking of diagnostic assays and build a sales network in the European Union.
Company
Niel-based Multiplicom is a spin out of Jurgen Del-Favero lab of the VIB Department of Molecular Genetics at the University of Antwerp. The researcher develops, manufactures and commercialises molecular genetic tests. The firm also offers diagnostic assays for breast cancer and cystic fibrosis and has developed the MultiplexerTM technology in collaboration with pharma companies to identify genetic markers linked to drug safety and efficacy.
