
CVC Capital Partners exits Dutch retailer
CVC Capital Parnets has sold Dutch supermarket chain C1000 to retail group Jumbo.
The deal is said to be worth €900m and is expected to close in the first quarter of 2012.
CVC had acquired a 73.2% stake in C1000 for €695m from former owner Royal Ahold in 2008. Goldman Sachs led the auction for the company on behalf of CVC.
Jumbo acquired the Dutch retailer Super de Boer in 2009 from French retailer Casino. The acquisition will make it one of the largest retail operators in the Netherlands.

C1000 is a major supermarket chain, with 725 stores in the Netherlands. In 2010, the company's revenue was €7.5bn.
The company is headquartered in Amstersfoort. It originated from the retailer Schuitema, founded in 1888, and is known as C1000 since 1981.
