HIG combines US and European metallised paper firms
HIG Capital has acquired Belgium-based ARMetallizing (ARM) and US-based Vacumet Paper from their corporate parents, and will merge the businesses following the transaction.
The GP bought ARM from Ackermans & van Haaren and Vacumet Paper from Massachusetts-based Scholle Corporation. It plans to grow the combined business in the US, Europe and South America organically and through further acquisitions.
Company
The merged group will have a turnover of €120m, supplying brands including Becks, Lurpak and Coors Light with metallised paper packaging.
The company will have three manufacturing facilities in Belgium, Italy and the US and will be led by ARM's CEO Paul Van Emmerick and CFO Martin Raeymakers. Both men will also own a stake in the business.
