Main Capital exits Iaso in trade sale
Main Capital Partners has exited Netherlands-based Iaso Backup Technology to US-based trade player GFI Software in a “double-digit-million-euro transaction”.
The value of the sale has not been released, though Main Capital stated that it has realised "multiple times" the original acquisition price of the company. The firm held Iaso for three years.
Main Capital originally invested in Iaso in March 2010 via its Main Capital II fund, which closed in October 2006 on €25m. According to unquote" data, the fund will typically invest €500,000-4m per investment and has a four-year investment period.
Company
Iaso was founded in 2004 and is based in Emmeloord with an additional office in Minsk. The company provides cloud-based backup software and storage solutions.
Iaso employs 50 staff and currently holds a market share of 60% in the Dutch market, with 35,000 global partners.
People
Pieter van Bodegraven is a partner at Main Capital and also sits on the board of Iaso, while Rene Oldenbeuving is Iaso's CEO. Walter Scott is the CEO of GFI.
