
Icos invests in Metal Membranes
Icos Capital has invested in Metal Membranes, a Dutch developer of ceramic and metallic membranes for the industrial sector.
Metal Membranes will use the funds to begin the global commercialisation of its product to industrial markets, particularly the oil and gas, chemicals and sensor sectors.
The company also plans on using connections with Icos's corporate partners to speed up commercialisation and further development of its technology.
Icos is a Badhoevedorp, Netherlands-based venture capital firm that invests seed and early-stage funding in European cleantech companies. According to unquote" data, the firm typically invests between €100,000-2.5m, primarily targeting companies located in the Netherlands.

Leeuwarden-headquartered Metal Membranes is a spinout from Dutch water treatment technology firm Wetsus.
The company develops nano-layer metallic membranes. It combines metallic and nanoporous ceramic layers for its membranes, which can be used in the industrial separation and filtration market, as well as the electronic and automotive sectors.
The company claims its product is cheaper than current offerings on the market.

Hans-Henk Wolters is the CEO of Metal Membranes; he founded the company alongside chief technology officer Sybrand Metz. Nityen Lal is the founder and managing partner of Icos.
