KBC Private Equity has invested in Di Legno Interiors alongside the company’s current shareholder and managing director Koen Vanbrabant and commercial director Ben Soers. As a result of the deal KBC Private Equity acquired a majority stake in the company. The management makes up the balance, with Vanbrabant holding a 25% stake and Soers holding a smaller minority stake. KBC Private Equity’s investment was in the range of €3-5m. KBC Bank provided senior debt for the transaction.

Company

Established in 1998 in Genk, Belgium, Di Legno Interiors manufactures and sells aged parquet flooring in more than 20 countries. Using a unique, natural production process, Di Legno transforms new oak into parquet that has an aged character. The product range encompasses aged parquet flooring made of solid or laminated wood available in different thicknesses, lengths, patterns and colours. The company has grown on average by more than 30% per year since 2001, reaching a turnover of €10.5m in 2006.
