
Hummingbird backs $2.6m round for Engagor
Hummingbird Ventures has led a $2.6m series-A funding round for Belgium-based Engagor, a social media monitoring platform, as the company expands into the US.
The company is launching its new office in San Francisco in conjunction with the funding round. The former co-founder of Dogster, Steven Reading, has been appointed vice-president of North America sales and will head the company's new San Francisco branch.
The fresh funding will also be used to expand Engagor's team from 25 to 35 by the end of the year. The company has also received funding from Strike4 and Chronos Financial, according to Engagor.

Engagor was founded in 2011 and is based in Ghent, Belgium. The company currently employs 25 staff.
Engagor provides a social media monitoring, analytics and real-time customer engagement platform. The platform is used by brands and companies to engage with their social media customers, allowing businesses to monitor and analyse the conversations taking place between customers and to respond in real time. Engagor's clients include Ikea, McDonald's, Volvo, PepsiCo, Coca-Cola, Microsoft, the European Parliament and T-Mobile.

Folke Lemaitre is the founder and CEO of Engagor. Frank Maene, a partner at Hummingbird, led the deal for the GP.
