Waterland acquires Quinity
Waterland Private Equity has acquired a majority stake in Quinity, a Netherlands-based provider of software for insurance companies.
The Dutch firm is investing in the company to fund its international growth plans. Quinity does not yet have a substantial presence in international markets; currently it serves customers located in the Netherlands, Belgium, France, Germany and Switzerland.
According to Quinity, the company will cooperate with Waterland portfolio company Actuera – a Dutch provider of software for insurance firms, pension funds and pension scheme administrators – to spur greater international growth.
In conjunction with the buyout, Quinity project manager Patrick van Driel is leaving the firm. The company will continue to be run by CEO Ralf Timmer and CTO Jan van Reenen. Senior designer Robert Guitink will remain involved in the development of the company's Quinity Insurance Solution (QIS) product for the time being, according to Quinity.
