Natixis sponsors Holland Venture's EUR70m fund
Fund
Holland Venture Partners has closed NPE Holland Venture Partners Fund I on EUR70m. Unlike traditional funds, there was no real fundraising process since the fund was sponsored by Natixis Private Equity. This new sponsorship enables Natixis Private Equity to reinforce its international presence and to go further in its strategy abroad by entering a new attractive market.
Holland Venture was established in 1981 as one of the first private equity companies in the Netherlands. The organisation has raised four funds previously, predominantly focused on established Dutch SMEs. The founder has moved to a more peripheral role within the investment house. Therefore, NPE Holland Venture Partners Fund I is seen as the first fund of the investment house's new generation.
Investors
Nearly all of the fund was subscribed by Natixis Private Equity International, with the management and a number of private individuals also investing.
Investments
The vehicle will focus on development capital and buyout transactions primarily in Dutch SMEs with an enterprise value of between EUR10-50m and turnover of up to EUR60m. Typically the target companies will benefit from one of the following trends: deregulation, demographic developments, sustainability and ownership transmission. Holland Venture Partners will not discount the opportunity to co-invest in a company or invest in the wider Benelux region. The fund will be used to acquire either majority stakes or minority stakes with control rights and equity investments of between EUR3-13m.
People
The team is comprised of seven investment professionals who have extensive experience in the Dutch private equity market, both as entrepreneurs and as private equity managers. The team is led by Hubert Verbeek and Ewout Prins.
