Mid Europa appoints two managing partners
CEE-focused private equity house Mid Europa Partners has appointed Robert Knorr (pictured above) and Matthew Strassberg as co-managing partners.
The appointments, which come into effect on 1 August, mean current managing partner Thierry Baudon will take a step back from daily operations. He founded Mid Europa in 1999 and will become executive chair from next month. In his new role, Baudon will continue to chair the firm's investment committee and oversee its strategic development.
Knorr joined Mid Europa in 1999. Most recently, he oversaw the firm's origination efforts in south east Europe and its retail and consumer practice as senior partner. Prior to joining Mid Europa, he worked with Bankers Trust and Deutsche Bank.

Strassberg has worked at the firm since 2002. As senior partner, he led the healthcare practice and co-headed the Warsaw office. Prior to joining Mid Europa, he worked with Merrill Lynch and JP Morgan in London and New York. He also gained previous private equity experience with TLC Capital Partners in New York.
Earlier this year, Mid Europa promoted Dominika Kozlowska-Login and Viktoria Habanova to associate directors, Lukasz Włodarczyk to senior associate and Bartosz Malecki, Can Karapence, Filip Kisdobranski and Tomas Vrba to associates.
