FlyCap targets €25-35m for mezzanine fund
Latvian sponsor FlyCap plans to reach €25-35m at final close for its latest mezzanine fund, partner Janis Skutelis has told Unquote.
FlyCap Mezzanine Fund II was launched in November 2019, and now has €21.3m committed, Skutelis said. The fund provides mezzanine loans to growing companies across the Baltic region, with two investments already inked.
The fund's final close is scheduled for August 2021, but it might still be extended by another year because of the Covid-19 pandemic, Skutelis added. The timing still needs to be firmed up with LPs, he said.
The Latvian government's development finance institution, Altum, committed around 60% of the fund, Skutelis said.
FlyCap will target family offices, pension funds and insurance companies for the fundraising, he said, adding that some of the existing investors are considering increasing their investments.
