
Mid Europa promotes six
CEE-focused firm Mid Europa Partners has promoted six team members.
Andrej Babache was promoted to director and Lukasz Gawlik to associate director. Murat Buyumez, Artur Sieńczewski and Tas Tobias were all promoted to the role of senior associate while Zofia Szewczuk was named investor relations manager.
Babache joined Mid Europa in 2006 and was previously an associate director. He is based in London. Gawlik is also based in London and joined Mid Europa in 2011 – he was previously senior associate.
Sieńczewski joined Mid Europa in 2011 as an associate and is based in Warsaw. Former associate Buyumez also joined the firm in 2011 and is based in Istanbul.
Tobias joined Mid Europa in 2012 as an associate and is based in Budapest. Szewczuk was hired as an investment professional in 2011 and works out of London.
Mid Europa scored a significant exit last year with the sale of Serbian pay TV provider SBB/Telemach Group to KKR, reaping a 3x return on its original investment. The GP is currently on the road for its new fundraising effort and is reportedly looking to raise in the region of €850m.
