Advent readies for EKO take-private
Advent International has secured subscriptions for a total of 97.98% of shares in Polish supermarket chain EKO Holding Group, following the acquisition of a controlling stake in the company last month.
Advent initially bought a 55% stake in EKO at the end of September; the GP offered PLN 4.70 (€1.13) per share, amounting to PLN 125.7m (€30m) overall.
Advent has now brought its holding to 62.14%. The deal was done through newco Ecorse Investments, which will seek to delist and restructure the business as soon as the purchase is settled. Advent also plans on acquiring the remaining 2% stake in due course.
EKO Holding Group consists of a large number of supermarkets and drug stores across Poland.
