
Advent to remain active in CEE despite office closures
Advent International has closed its Prague and Warsaw offices as part of a strategy change, but will continue to invest in the region.
A source familiar with the matter confirmed the GP had shuttered its offices in the Polish and Czech capitals, though Advent declined to comment.
The closure is understood to form part of a strategic shift for the GP, which is changing its investment strategy from a geographic focus to an industry focus. Advent will still make investments in central and Eastern Europe, but will do so from its other European offices.
Advent's move comes during a period of private equity reshuffling in the region: in October, CEE-focused GP Arx Equity Partners said it would stop investing in Poland – though its office will remain open. Meanwhile, CVC Capital Partners announced in September the opening of a Warsaw office, headed by Krzysztof Krawczyk.
