Mid Europa’s Chmelař joins Rockaway

Czech Republic-based VC firm Rockaway Capital has hired Robert Chmelař as an investment manager, joining from CEE-focused private equity firm Mid Europa Partners.
Chmelař leaves Mid Europa after nine years at the firm, where he was promoted to investment director in January 2015. He will not sever ties with the GP entirely, continuing to serve in a role as independent adviser focusing on the Czech market.
At Rockaway, Chmelař will focus on managing the VC's investments in CEE-based internet companies and has invested his own money alongside Rockaway.
Prior to his time at Mid Europa, Chmelař held various investment banking positions across Citigroup's CEEMEA teams.
