Fribourg Capital closes VC fund on €20m
Bucharest-based VC firm Fribourg Capital has closed its first fund targeting Romanian IT startups, Fribourg Digital I, on €20m.
The fund closed on €20m in June 2017 and officially launched this week, according to a statement.
The Bucharest-based VC firm will deploy capital in Romanian IT startups seeking their first seed funding rounds.
On 20 September, Fribourg announced the fund's first investment, in digital marketing startup Baro, deploying €80,000. Launched in 2016 by two entrepreneurs, the startup has developed technology to automate Facebook marketing campaigns for businesses.

The fund received commitments from local entrepreneurs, who wish to remain anonymous, the VC firm told unquote".
Investments
Fribourg intends to invest between €20,000-250,000 in initial funding rounds, with the ability to provide further follow-on financing. It seeks startups focused on technology to help develop their offering in the local market. The VC firm invests primarily in operations in eastern Europe and the CIS.
