
Actera to acquire Gratis
Istanbul-based buyout firm Actera Group has acquired Turkish personal care products retailer Gratis.
According to a filing received by the Turkish Competition Authority on 29 November, Turkish private equity firm Actera has requested to acquire a 55% stake in privately owned Gratis.
The competition authority noted that Gratis owner Demir Sabancı and Actera would establish joint control over the target following the deal.
Turkish daily Dunya reported that no changes to management were planned. The report added that founder Demir Sabancı will remain in his role and work with Actera to to expand the brand nationally and internationally.

Gratis is a drug store chain operating 500 stores across 76 Turkish provinces. It is headquartered in Istanbul and was founded by Demir Sabancı in 2009.
