Abris sells Kopernikus Technology to trade
Abris Capital Partners has sold Serbian cable TV and broadband provider Kopernikus Technology to telecommunications specialist Telekom Serbia.
Abris acquired a majority stake in Kopernikus in December 2016, while the company founders Srđan and Zvezdan Milovanović retained a minority holding in the business.
The GP deployed capital from its CEE Mid-Market Fund III, which held a first close on €300m in 2016 and hit its €500m target in September 2017. The vehicle acquires majority stakes in privately owned companies based in the CEE region.
Under Abris's management, Kopernikus successfully integrated 20 smaller cable TV providers, strengthened its management team, invested in fibre-optic infrastructure and digitalisation, and grew its subscriber base by around 25%.
