Innova buys Chemes from Abris
Polish buyout firm Innova Capital has acquired a majority stake in Sady-based printing company Chemes in a secondary buyout from Abris Capital Partners.
Innova is currently deploying capital from Innova/6, which held a first close on €194m towards its €325m hard-cap last year. The GP tapped Innova/6 in March for the acquisition of another Polish printing company, Drukarnia Embe Press. It is unclear whether the two companies will be merged.
The sale ended a three-and-a-half-year holding period for Abris, which invested from Abris CEE Mid-Market Fund II to become the majority shareholder alongside founder and CEO Maciej Szperliński.
The GP said it increased sales by introducing a new product (laminated tubes), professionalising the organisation and strengthening the management team.
Company
Chemes was founded in 1990 and is headquartered in Sady, Poland. It prints self-adhesives labels and shrink sleeves. Its customers include listed and private companies in the cosmetics, food products and logistics industries.
