Innova buys Optical Network
Polish private equity firm Innova Capital has wholly acquired Romanian optician chain Optical Network from Gemisa Investments.
The GP drew capital from Innova 6, a buyout fund with a target of €325m that held a first close on €196m last year.
Innova said it will support Optical Network's plans to improve the product offering and customer experience, as well as expand the retail and distribution network.
Gemisa mandated KPMG to sell the asset in October last year, according to Unquote sister publication Mergermarket.
Company
Optical Network was founded in 2004 and is headquartered in Bucharest. The company sells prescription glasses, contact lenses, sunglasses and eyecare accessories through its nationwide network of 55 stores. It operates under two brands, Optiblu and Klarmann. The company generated sales of RON 32m (€6.8m) in the first half of 2018.
