Innova buys Optiplaza
Innova Capital has acquired Romanian optician chain Optiplaza in its second Romanian deal in the sector this month.
The GP drew capital from Innova 6, a buyout fund with a target of €325m that held a first close on €196m last year.
Earlier in July, Innova acquired Optical Network from Gemisa Investments and said in a statement that "more detailed information on the strategy and future plans of the fund in this sector will be presented once the transaction has been finalised, which will follow after the approval of transaction by the competition council".
Both transactions are still currently being assessed by the competition council.
Company
Optiplaza was founded in 2004 and is headquartered in Bucharest. It runs 42 opticians under the brands Optiplaza and Optica Express.
