Abris buys dentistry supplier Dentstore
CEE-based private equity firm Abris Capital Partners has bought Dentstore, a Romanian dental distribution platform.
The acquisition is Abris's third acquisition in the sector, following an investment in Dentotal in November 2019 and Dentechnica in November 2021.
Abris managing partner Pawel Gierynski said that part of the GP's vision is to build a portfolio of companies in the fast-growing dental supplies market in central and southern Europe.
Dentstore co-owners Bogdan Tufeanu and Adrian Fortescu will continue to run the business.
Accounts filed for Dentstore in Romania show that the group had revenues of RON 172m in 2020 (EUR 35m), up 20% on the year before.
Abris typically invests EUR 30m-75m in majority stakes in mid-market companies. It last closed a fundraise in September 2017, hitting its target of EUR 500m for Abris CEE Mid Market Fund III.
Its most recent exit is Cargounit, which it sold to Three Seas Investment Fund (3SIIF) in October 2020 after four years of ownership.
Company
Dentstore, headquartered in Bucharest, provides services to the dental market in Romania and Bulgaria: including import and sales of supplies and equipment; technical assistance and advice; and servicing and warranting of equipment.
It was founded in 2012 and expanded into Bulgaria in 2017.
