GREENFORT - Freshfields and Hengeler Lawyers establish new law firm
The lawyers Andreas von Oppen, previously of Hengeler Mueller, Dr Carsten Angersbach, Dr Daniel Roeder and Gunther Weiss, all previously of Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, have launched a new law firm called GREENFORT. GREENFORT commenced business from the 1 April 2005 in Frankfurt am Main, offering legal advice in the area of company law, with a focus on medium-sized enterprises and financial investors. It is GREENFORT's aim to work very closely with its clients as a service-oriented and personal advisor and to be available for strategic and corporate decisions. All four lawyers have many years of advisory and international expertise: Weiss played a significant role in advising on the acquisition of the Deutscher Herold Versicherungsgruppe from Deutsche Bank by Zurich Financial Services, acted in a lead position on behalf of Barilla/Kamps on the sale of the Dan Cake Group, and advised on numerous international management share schemes and annual general meetings of public stock corporations. Roeder has advised on a range of national and cross-border M&A transactions, including SCA on the acquisition of the Stabernack Group. In addition, he was involved in a number of major arbitration proceedings. Von Oppen recently advised mg technologies on the sale of Dynamit Nobel, acted on behalf of BorgWarner in the public takeover of Beru, and was involved in various initial public offerings. Angersbach played a significant role in advising Barilla on the public takeover of Kamps, including the subsequent restructuring and squeeze-out, and in advising Liberty Media on their broadband cable deal with Deutsche Telekom.
