EQUITA
EQUITA, the private equity arm of Harald Quandt Holding, is adding new executive talent to its team. Joining Dr Michael Hönig on the EQUITA management team is Dr Hansjörg Schnabel. Hans Moock, until now a partner in EQT, part of the Wallenberg family's group of companies, will further strengthen EQUITA's leadership in October. The launch of the EQUITA Fonds 3 will now enable the company to enter into longer-term investments in response to the changing capital requirements of mid-sized companies. The new fund is aimed at family offices with an entrepreneurial approach, but also institutional investors geared towards long-term commitments.Dr Schnabel has been active in the German investment industry since 1992, initially with Deutsche Beteiligungs AG, and later with Bridgepoint Capital and the private equity arm of the British insurer Legal & General. Dr Schnabel joined EQUITA in 2003, and since then has played a decisive role in raising EQUITA's profile as an investment company focused on mid-sized companies in the German-speaking market.Effective October 1, 2005, Hans J Moock will also join EQUITA as a senior executive. Moock has been with EQT Partners since 1999. Before joining EQT, Moock was the director of the German office of the US financial investor The Carlyle Group, in Munich. In addition to his nine-year experience in strategic consulting LEK Consulting and Bain, Moock has extensive experience in the industry. From 1996-1998 he was chairman of the management board of Falk-Verlag AG. Prior to that, he directed business operations at Bertelsmann Professional Information, where he was in charge of building a professional publishing group on a Europewide scale. In the course of repositioning EQUITA's management, Werner Quillmann has resigned for personal reasons from the EQUITA management team effective 30 June 2005.
