AXA Private Equity
AXA Private Equity has appointed Stephan Illenberger, managing director responsible for Germany, as member of the global executive committee. Along with managing the company's business in Germany, Illenberger will focus on shaping AXA Private Equity's global strategy through his role on the committee, alongside Dominique Senequier, chief executive officer, Dominique Gaillard, managing director of direct funds, and Vincent Gombault, managing director fund-of-funds. As part of its current international strategy, AXA Private Equity is planning to further expand its business in Germany, which is seen as one of the key markets besides France. Before joining AXA Private Equity in 2001, Illenberger was co-owner of Dortenbach & Co, an independent management company, for four years. Prior to that, he was head of corporate finance at NatWest Markets in Germany, and an associate director with Bayerische Vereinsbank working on M&A transactions fro 1987-1992.
