Allianz Private Equity Partners: Marc Thiery
Marc Thiery has joined Allianz Private Equity Partners GmbH (APEP), Munich, as a managing director. He will be responsible for the firm’s investment activities in Europe including primary investments in venture capital and buyout funds, in addition to secondary and co-investment transactions. As a result of his direct investing experience gained at Morgan Stanley Capital Partners and Apax Europe over the past seven years, Thiery will also drive future co-investment activities in partnership with APEP’s general partners. He joined APEP from the $3.3bn buyout and development capital fund Morgan Stanley Private Equity, the management company for Morgan Stanley Capital Partners (MSCP). Based in London, he had primary responsibility for the German private equity investment activities of MSCP from 1997-2002. Prior to that, Thiery started his private equity career at Apax Partners in London, where he completed a number of transactions in the German market. Previously he held positions at Morgan Stanley, London, in investment banking with a focus on merger and acquisitions and at the Boston Consulting Group in New York.
