DVC Deutsche Venture Capital - Dr Thomas Taapken
Munich-based DVC has hired Dr Thomas Taapken as partner for its life science team. Taapken joins from Aventis Venture Activities where he was director. He was also managing director of FCPR Genavent VC Fund, a joint vehicle of Aventis and Societée Générale Asset Management. From 1998 to 2001 Taapken worked on behalf of Aventis Cropscience as venture capital manager at Burill & Company in San Francisco. In addition DVC has also appointed Dr David Karabelnik as a consultant for its life science team. He is co-founder and managing director of Breslin Biotech AG, the Swiss-based venture capital firm that is backed by BdW Beteiligungsgesllschaft für die deutsche Wirtschaft, the subsidiary of Dresder-Allianz-Group.
