
BlackFin hires Creuzé and Mandin to head fintech fund

BlackFin Capital Partners has hired Julien Creuzé (pictured above) and Maxime Mandin to lead its new European fintech venture fund.
Creuzé started as an entrepreneur-in-residence at Agoranov, a Paris-based tech incubator, in 2009. That year he also launched software vendor Antelink.
In 2010 Creuzé joined venture capital firm Aster Capital and moved to San Francisco in 2012 to launch the firm's local office. He served on the boards of US portfolio companies BuildingIQ, Digital Lumens and Ecofactor. Creuzé relocated back to Paris in December 2014 to take the lead on Aster Capital's investment team and became a partner.
Maxime Mandin, BlackFin Capital Partners
Mandin started his career at Axa Private Equity in Paris in 2009 and later moved to XAnge Private Equity in Munich. He also worked in innovation consulting for two years at Alcimed, performing technology due diligence.
From 2013-2016, Mandin was investment associate at Seventure Partners, focusing on the fintech and insurance technology space in France and Germany. During his career he has been involved in around 18 investments in France, Germany and Belgium.
BlackFin's maiden fintech fund will focus on banking, payments, wealth and asset management, brokerage, insurance, insurance distribution, financial software and technology, technology related to regulatory requirements and financial media. The VC hopes to raise €120m for the vehicle and said in a statement it will announce further hires for the fintech team before year-end.
