FSN hires from Apax and Capvis for new Munich office
Swedish GP FSN Capital has hired Robin Muerer of Apax Partners and Justin Kent of Capvis Equity Partners to head up its newly established Munich office.
Both men joined as partners to lead FSN's investment effort in the DACH region. FSN said expansion into the region is a natural step for its progression, as strong industrial ties exist between the Nordic countries and Germany.
Prior to joining, Muerer worked with Apax for more than 10 years. He recently took a leading role in the firm's investment in online fashion retailer Matchesfashion. Muerer also has experience in consulting with the Boston Consulting Group in Zurich, where he worked before Apax.
Kent joined from Capvis, where he worked as investment director for the last four years. Kent recently led the buyout of Wer liefert Was? For Capvis and took a seat on the company's board. Prior to this, he worked as principal in the transaction team for The Riverside Company in its Munich office.
With the new hires, the investment team in Munich has been expanded to five people, with a stated mid-term goal of expanding the team to 10.
FSN is the second regionally focused GP to announce its expansion into the DACH region this month, after Benelux-based Gimv announced the hiring of a partner and two new principals in its Munich office earlier in the week.
