Triton appoints Watters to debt opportunities team
Triton has hired Gordon Watters as an investment advisory committee member for its debt opportunities team.
In his new role, Watters will provide operational scrutiny for investments and put forward recommendations to the investment manager.
Watters is currently chief risk officer and senior adviser at LCM Partners, a role he has held since 2013. Prior to that, Watters was chief executive at Ares Management Europe.
Watters previously worked as head of financial sponsors group at Barclays, and held senior positions at Credit Lyonnais Securities and Bank of Scotland.
The Triton Debt Opportunities Fund held a final close on €500m in July 2014, according to Unquote Data. It targets businesses struggling with too much debt or those with cyclical or operational difficulties. The vehicle seeks non-control positions, investing through loans or bonds. The fund will focus on Triton's core markets in DACH and the Nordic region.
